S.E.R.E.N.E.™ is a compassionate framework for helping dogs (and all animals) thrive. From emotional recovery to resilience and meaningful learning, it meets each animal where they are. S.E.R.E.N.E.™ is kind, flexible, and transformative.
"S.E.R.E.N.E.™ is for all the animals who live in a world that wasn't built for them in mind. When we support animals by helping them feel secure enough to be themselves, to heal from painful experiences, we naturally uplift them and empower them to thrive. Animals aren't to be dominated; we do better to learn from them."

S.E.R.E.N.E.™ supports animals, helping them to be themselves, heal, and flourish.
S.E.R.E.N.E.™ is a framework and philosophy developed by professional Dog Trainer and Behaviour Consultant, Rebekah Osborne.
At its simplest, S.E.R.E.N.E.™ is a guide to improving your dog’s quality of life and supporting their readiness to engage. It helps create the conditions for emotional recovery, resilience, and meaningful learning.
When explored more fully, S.E.R.E.N.E.™ supports healthy nervous system regulation and fosters emotional resilience.
At its deepest, S.E.R.E.N.E.™ becomes a transformative, healing approach — offering insight, compassion, and a deeper understanding of the dog in front of you.
No matter what, S.E.R.E.N.E.™ is always flexible, kind, and tailored to the individual animal. Though it was designed specifically for dogs, S.E.R.E.N.E.™ can be applied to all animals, supporting them to be themselves and better prepared for life’s inevitable challenges.
What does S.E.R.E.N.E.™ mean?
S.E.R.E.N.E.™ is an Acronym, it stands for Safety, Empathy, Regulation, Exploration, Nurture & Empowerment.
Safety is the foundation of all behaviour.
It goes beyond simply being free from harm — safety is a deep emotional need. When an animal does not feel safe, their behaviour will reflect that.
Empathy is the bridge to understanding.
It’s more than noticing behaviour — it’s recognizing feelings and perspectives. When an animal feels truly seen and understood, trust deepens and connection flourishes.
Regulation is the key to harmony.
Animals need support to manage stress and emotions. Without it, frustration, anxiety, or overwhelm can shape behaviour. Guiding them to self-regulate helps them feel steady, calm, and secure — creating a foundation of emotional harmony they can carry into every part of life.
Exploration is essential for growth.
Curiosity drives learning, confidence, and joy. When animals have safe opportunities to explore and engage with the world, we can help cultivate curiosity, not fear or hesitation.
Nurture is the heart of trust.
This goes beyond basic care — it’s attentive, calming, patient, and responsive support. When animals feel nurtured, they feel valued, safe, and motivated to engage positively with the world.
Empowerment is freedom within guidance.
It’s more than giving choices. It’s helping animals build confidence, resilience, and autonomy. When animals are empowered, their behaviour reflects their self-assurance and a willingness to thrive.

Written for guardians, professionals, and anyone who loves an animal navigating a world not built with them in mind, this book explores what becomes possible when we stop trying to fix behaviour — and instead learn how to listen, support, and protect emotional safety.
Secrets of S.E.R.E.N.E. guides you through the S.E.R.E.N.E.™ framework. It weaves together compassion, lived experience, and practical insight to help animals feel secure enough to be themselves, heal from past trauma, and rediscover their ability to thrive.
Secrets of S.E.R.E.N.E. is a invitation to see animals differently in a world that can be harsh. This is not a book about control or dominance. It is about relationship, trust, and learning to walk beside the animals who teach us every single day.
The S.E.R.E.N.E.™ Course is a slow, supportive learning journey for guardians and professionals who want to move beyond surface-level training and into deeper, more ethical behaviour support.
Rather than offering quick fixes, this course focuses on understanding the emotional world of animals — especially those who are sensitive, reactive, grieving, or misunderstood.
Grounded in the S.E.R.E.N.E.™ framework, the course explores safety, empathy, regulation, exploration, nurture, and empowerment as interconnected threads, helping you build trust, resilience, and lasting change without coercion.
This is a space for learning at your own pace, honouring both the animal’s nervous system and your own. There is no pressure, no perfection. Just compassionate guidance, clarity, and connection.
